Neurodivergent Labour Statement on the 2024 General Election

Neurodivergent Labour looks forward to kicking out the Tories and electing a Labour government on 4 July.

We will campaign actively and tirelessly for the Labour government to implement the radical and practical policies in our Autism and Neurodiversity Manifesto, including: a significant cut in waiting times for assessments; legal protection against discrimination; a thorough overhaul of the justice system; and full rights at work.

We remind Labour of its conference decision to include neurodiversity in its policy platform and urge it to work with ND Labour to deliver these policies.

We invite Neurodivergent Labour members, supporters and our allies to join us in this campaigning.

The key is developing approaches to teaching that ensures that Neurodiversity brain processing is catered for and not singled out as different. As the approaches that benefit Neurodiverse children also benefit non-neurodiverse individuals so a win win! There should be know need to identify ND as education should include them. The only benefit should be for NDs is for them to better understand themselves. Please include understanding and training within teacher training .

Re Doctors please ensure also they are sufficiently knowledgeable and include work undertaken by Dr B French at Nottingham University!
